2018 Supercoach Stats

Average Score: 127.5

Highest Score: 168 (Rd 6)

Lowest Score: 76

Last 5 games avg from Rd 18-23): 127.2

Max played every match in 2018 including three finals to finish with twenty-five matches for the season; his season was rewarded with his first club best and fairest winning the Keith 'Bluey' Truscott Trophy, Ron Barassi Junior Trophy - Leadership Award, AFL Coaches Association Player of the Year and his second appearance in the All-Australian squad. You can see with all these awards for 2018 and scoring in 12 games at 130+ supercoach points why he is a premium pick.

Max had 2 purple patches in 2018, rounds 5 – 8 he averaged 148.5 and rounds 14 – 17 he averaged 141.75.

With his huge scoring ceiling and only having 4 games under 100pts he is a must have with Grundy. Not only these 2 could potentially score you 300pts between them each week but have the “C” on one and make that 450pts.

Champion Data Numbers:

Gawn was the No.1 ruckman in the comp for points per game.

- Ranks elite for: hitouts and hitouts to advantage.

- Ranks 2nd in  points from intercepts from round 15

- Ranked equal 6th for intercept marks

There is just one thing that will stop Max from reaching his heights of 2018 and that is a guy named Braydon Preuss. Came across from north Melbourne in the off season. Well more to the point the decision is of coach Goodwin playing both rucks and sharing the ruck load between them both.

Even saying that I still think Max is very dangerous up forward where he would be resting and snag a goal or 2 extra. This would then bring him up to his 2018 score.

My 2019 prediction: 125
